Since the classic McVitie’s cookies contain 66 percent wheat flour in various forms including bran, in the gluten-free variant, wheat is completely replaced with oats. Although they have a completely different taste from wheat ones, gluten-free McVitie’s have retained fine sweet, caramelized flavors, but have become crunchier, much lighter and have gained that recognizable, almost milky taste of oats.
